Snowboarding, freeeeeeeeeeeeee... free falling!!!

I've never thought that after spending a whole season here in Vail without snowboarding was going to be the saddest waste of time ever, my ex didn't actually pushed me to do it and my friends lost patience with me after a couple of times up in the mountain with my cathatonic fear of heights. Maybe taking the chair lift was one of the most difficult things to do, as well as getting off the chair lift, and well... to be honest I still have some troubles but the good thing is that I'm liking it, and liking it a lot.
Some people may say that out of all my flaws being a quiter is not exactly me. But to be honest there were times when I said: "you know what? fuck this, I can't do this", but nothing that some beers in a nice apres-ski bar to let you start all over again the next morning, and that's how I did it, mornig after morning for 6 days in a raw made me want to keep trying, and keep falling!, to finally become, NOT AN EXPERT, but a decent snowboarder who has a lot of fun.

Now I must admit that as a sociopath, I like to do this by myself, nothing like practicing my turns and going down the hill with my headphones out loud listening something like: "and Im freeeeeeeeeeeeeee... free falling!!". Snowboarding is so good because I am so concentrated, and YESS!! it needs all my attention, that I don't think about anything else, and that for somebody with so many thoughts in her head like me, is just perfect.

To get an ski pass is actually terribly expensive but I did it; one day I started my morning at 9 a.m., got my big breakfast, took my board and started going up the hill, after a couple of hours, this cute american instructor told me that I got it, I just needed to push on my edges a little bit more so I can actually catch some speed so we went up the hill again and I COULD DO IT!, I was so excited that I as soon as I came down I stopped by the ticket office and got a pass, almost $700.

Now I spend my days going "riding" like kids call it here, sometimes I got the afternoon shift but when I don't, I just call in sick. Is the little ski bumb who was sleeping inside of me that has taken over these days.

Mental Note: start working harder so I can actually save money, which is the reason I came here.

I like the montains here in Vail, I do have my favorite runs, such as Swingsville, or Cinch in Beaver Creek. I went to Steamboat Springs, another little town, and I found RendezVous or Why Not; I also spent some days in Aspen visiting Rachel so, when she was busy working like a normal person, I went riding until I couldnt feel my legs. Next week Im taking the bus to Breckenridge to visit a friend and to try some runs over there also.
